Friends of my wife sent her this pic, their friends went through the ice at Lac La Nonne. I'm not sure when, probably last weekend. Any one else hear anything about this?

Narrows between island and shore Id bet. That spot never freezes fully. I was told that 30 years ago fishing out there. Guys on sleds have broke through there in the dead of winter.

Just like the spot on Wab under the bridge. or Ste anne through the narrows to west cove. These types of spots never freeze properly.

Narrow sections of lake with moving water.

They really should teach ice safety in schools. So many people now pick up outdoor hobbies later in life with their only mentor being social media "Pro's"

Hard lessons learned. Hope nobody was hurt.

I don't recognize that area in the photo however we drove on Lanonne last weekend as well as many others and there was at least 24 inches of ice. Accessed at the main North Side boat launch south of the store. Not many drive on days left though. Glad all are safe.
