Barnes lrx bullets in 7mm

Does anyone have any experience with these Barnes lrx bullets? I’m thinking 7-08 or 7 rem mag. How do they compare to ttsx? For hunting application and accuracy.

I’ve had great success in both on game performance and accuracy with the 145 LRX in various 7MM Magnums.

I use the 145gr lrx in my 284win and have dropped all my animals within 20 yards. They are going at 3100fps and super accurate.

I’m getting good accuracy with the 139’s in my 7-08. Doing a solid 2780 fps.

Only managed to pop a cow moose with it this fall. 130 yds and blew through the near side shoulder and through the lungs and out through the ribs on the other side. Quintessential bang flop.

They perform excellent on game, I only use the TTSX myself, because my current 7mmstw is slightly more accurate with the 150TTSX.

I love them in the wifes 7mm-08. A deer and a small bull moose so far with them. I believe they are designed to open up with lower velocities than the normal ttsx. Either way they are accurate and hard hitting. If you find some 139 somewhere let me know.

It looks like the 145’s are available. Going to try them in a 7-08. Hoping they handle the wind a bit better than the 120gn ttsx.

Got onto the LRX 145 gr for 7mm and .280 AI . All copper and very accurate with near double expansion. All i will ever shoot .

Using the 145 LRX in my 280 Rem. Good results on the three animals I have taken with this bullet, plus it is amazingly accurate in my rifle. The LRX yielded the best 100m group that I have ever shot from a hunting rifle.

Is that with Varget? How long is your barrel?

Has anyone tried staball 6.5 with this combo? Hodgdon website says 145gn spr sp can be pushed over 3000fps with staball.

Varget, Lapua brass, BR2 primers, out of a 23-1/2” barrel.

I just ordered some 145 LRX for my 7mm Rem Mag.
I'm new to reloading and the only suitable powder I have at the moment is IMR 4831.
Any advice on load data, manual(s), etc, is welcome.
I have last years Hodgon manual but doesn't mention the 145's.
Neither does their Reloading Data Center webpage...
The Barnes load data site lists the 145 LRX but not with IMR 4831.
They do list the 150gr TSX with IMR 4831 in 7mm Rem Mag..... What am I missing? Thanks

I am getting 3040-3050 fps according to my Magnetospeed, 24" barrel. I think there's a bit more to be had for velocity but really don't want to mess with this load. Due to mag box length and bullet shape the LRX 145's sit 0.186" off the lands of my rifle.

k thx, mines 22" so will see like to hit 3000, I had factory federal 140 clock real close to 2950 and that's what on the box so was surprised.

I had some swift S2 in my 6.5rm that had same deal were .181 jump to fit mag and still shot good, there pretty streamlined ogive back there a bit.

I have used 6.5 staball in a my creedmoor and it pushes bullets faster with less pressure signs than anything Ive used and I;ve used everything from imr 3031 to rl26. It seems like a pretty accurate powder as well.

I have used it in my 280 AI, I don't have the recipe handy but as I recall I am up to approximately 2 grains over Hodgins maximum recommended load with no pressure signs yet.

Nosler brass, Fed 210 primers, seated approximately 0.100" off the lands, 3005 FPS as I recall and just less than half inch groups at 100 m, 24" barrel

Excellent powder, meters very well and very easy to work with. One caution is that at least for the 280 AI it doesn't start to really excel until you get close to or just over the maximum recommended load so be careful with it.

It's deceptive in that you think you are going to be getting pressure signs when none are there.
