Any thoughts or recommendations on a recoil pad for a Tikka T3x in 7mm Rem with the factory stock? I'm looking for something relatively simple but effective. Don't have tons of knowledge on these or do I even need one? Gun is brand new, haven't fired it yet but just entertaining the idea of bringing felt recoil closer to my 30-06 level. Wondering out loud I guess.
Thanks

You won’t get better recoil reduction or easier installation than Limbsaver AirTech.

Limbsaver is about as good as it gets in prefit recoil pads. As to recoil levels, the 7mmremmag is not much more than the 30-06, although for some reason, people get the idea that because it is a magnum, it produces far more recoil.

I put one on a tikka 300wm and it was fine to shoot.

Will it affect eye relief on scope already mounted?
Not sure how thick the limbsaver units are?
Thanks !

Will probably add up to 1/4” about.

I put limbsavers on all my Tikkas including my 22-250. I prefer the extra length of pull that it provides.

To do it properly, the gun must fit properly after the instalation of the pad, quite often this means cutting the stock a bit to get the same length .
It's not too difficult and there are many gunsmiths and hobbiest gun guys who can do it .
Too long a stock with a recoil pad will hurt as much or more than a properly fitting stock with a butt plate .

Have the limbsaver on my 30-06 made a huge difference and that extra 1/4 was perfect. Bought it off Amazon
