anyone out calling moose yet?

Anyone had any luck getting a response from moose yet? Everyone tells me the rut is a little later in Alberta than back home (ON). However I've always found you can get em going a few weeks early. Still nothing yet for me, just wondering if anyone else is out for some pre-season scouting? Bow season open, getting impatient!!!!!

My wife and I were out for a drive last night and saw two decent bulls about a half mile away walking away from us. I shut off the truck, got out and started cow calling to see if they would respond. They stopped, turned around and started trotting my way. I kept calling until they were 30 yards from the truck....my wife is still talking about it!

Weekend High is 24??? No frost yet??? Leaves still green??

North of Edmonton, it is pretty clear that there will be no activity any time soon. HOWEVER, last week of September should turn things on. I am very looking forward to it, as I have calling season in 544. Trouble is, I'll probably be solo this year, which makes for heavy work.

I was out on sunday, saw a small bull, couldnt get the stalk, so i tried calling. It didnt seem to interest him at all...couple weeks more and it may be a different story.

I would have to say the weather is a bit to warm give them til the first of October and they will be ready..

i can only get the 2nd and 3rd weeks off in november for my moose/wt hunt so im kinda screwed for calling. i find they really arent too intrested in november, more curious than anything....but heres for hoping.
