Used barber and dew worm.
Killed several walleyes.
Went home. Never again.

Not enough information in your post but it sounds like barotrauma and you need to fish in shallower water. You can’t winch walleye up from 40’ and expect them to release well without some assistance.

Nothing wrong with sport fishing if your educated enough to not to kill the fish.

Odds are barber was supposed to be bobber so if I am correct depth likely is not the problem

Small hook with bait being swallowed deeply is my guess but It doesn’t look like the OP is responding to posts so who knows

Where is the sport in that hey! Barbers...well at least they cut our hair nicely.
But they really step over the line when they are killing our walleye. Don't run with scissors hey!
