Just wanted to thank all the fellas who told me to try foamie flies. WOW!!!! Was down at the Red Deer river By Bower Ponds over the last couple of days and pulled out 27 Goldeye on Friday and 12 Yesterday. Thanks a million! Friday was my best day of fishing ever, i also went 7 for 7 (seven casts seven fish) which for me is unheard of lol. Thanks again!

Awesome, sounds like you had a pretty good time!

The more I hear about these foamies the more I want to get a couple to play around with using my spinning gear :)

Cool :) Did you have anything suspended below the foam fly, or were you just using the foamie? Was there one bug that outperformed the others?

Yup - I remember posting something about they are worth the $3 each. http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/showthread.php?t=40511

Never knew they worked for goldeye, probably because I've never gone fishing targeting goldeye.

Glad you have fun. Catching fish every cast is unbelieveblye fun, especially on dry flies. Thanks for sharin' your story.

I guess I better go buy some foam flies before they are sold out the price goes up.

Cool. Those foamie flies are so simple. I wasn't planning on buying any, but I think I'm going to have to add a couple to my tackle.

Nice going T-bone!!!

Looks like you were having so much fun you couldn't stop shaking to take pictures, that or the goldeye put a good fight.

I have something very similar to your terrestrial pattern foam fly. Unfortunately, no big brown has every sniffed it - I've always had better luck with the yellow hoppers.
