I have a casting rod where the last 2 inches of the cork on the butt broke off. I was trying to repair it but have wrecked a portion of the cork disks I ordered already trying to ream them out to size. If I wreck any more it would be cheaper from me to pay someone else to fix it then order more lol

Is there anyone you could recommend to repair it?

You could try the reel doctor ,but if its not a high end rod . Go buy a new one !

Maybe you could buy a sheet of cork gasket and punch out disks with pieces of pipe?
Just brain stormin' here...

I build custom cork grips but it would hard to say exactly without seeing a picture of exactly what’s going on. It is process to get everything together and to sand it down especially if it’s just a portion of the grip.

once cut flush you would have to fit and glue new cork which can be tough if it’s not a clean cut. Then add an end cap and would have to lathe it down to the size of the original. It would be extremely difficult to match the cork every batch I order in has slight different colour/texture variations then the last.

hope this helps

I would just cut the cork even and trim down the piece of rod sticking out to be just long enough to glue an end cap on it.

Fish Tales in Calgary sells cork discs for building rod handles. You can likely fix it with some.
