trying to be tricky?

It would help for a quicker identification to know where you caught it. Mouth is pretty big and shape and color looks like a northern pike minnow.

River? Lake? BC?

all I know is it isnt a rocky mountain whitefish, the mout is shaped wrong and to large for that species.

I'm thinkin' that Sun is right. The mouth doesn't look long enough to be a chub.

Can't tell if there's an adipose or not. Have to guess it's a longnose dace because of the length of the snout. I can't believe no one said mtn whitefish - that's a good sign.

Tried to go back and edit this, as I gibbled it up, but I've no longer got the edit function on this post.

The mouth doesn't look short enough to be a chub was what I meant to type.

Definitely not a finescaled or red belly dace, nor lake chub, nor spot tailed shiner, nor a fathead minnow...

If caught from the Sask I would have to say Flathead Chub.
