Some lakes just grow fish differently than others. First time fishing Last Mountain Lake today and we got 1/2 of what we came for. My turn tomorrow hopefully. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220731/c03948a06ef1ee02f57714a376d14998.jpg

Congrats all around on a beauty fish!

The biggest one to get caught in our boat was 78cm totally by accident:)

Tossing a silver spoon in murky water for pike....go figure eh.

It did. Closer to 31. No weight but for how thick this fish was had to be close to if not over 10lbs.

Man…you guy sure know how to get it done Mike!

There are so many people who talk about getting out and doing things but something always gets in the way. You guys make it happen though….

Congrats to your wife on getting her PB Walleye! It’s a beauty!

Awesome fish from an awesome fishing partner. Mine mostly just nags me to do chores. I must have locked in too early in junior high. lol.

in cases like this I prefer to call it "expertly trained wife" then you can still steal a wee bit of credit :bad_boys_20::fighting0074:
Nice walter, at that size they even put up a decent fight for eyes :fighting0030:

8 years ago when we met she wouldn't touch a fish lol.
She is well trained now but that comes at the expense of her out fishing me on a regular basis.
It was as good a fight as I'd seen from a lake walleye.

And she did it again yesterday. Not as big but a solid 27.5" 8lb fish.
I think I caught more fish total than she did but I didn't get anything bigger than 24"....but for our first time out there (had a little information and some areas to try)....and me not being a die hard walleye guy....I'm happy we were able to find quality fish and stay on them. Man the "spots" on that lake get crowded though. So many boats pulling rigs weaving in and out between one another.....walleye guys are weird lol.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220802/89eb7c0ce5f90e5a007a59ed865114c9.jpg

Find any nice pike or just walleye? Walleye seem to be a good size

And honestly my wife out fishes me when it comes to walleye 90% of the time too. I am just not a big fan of targeting them compared to her to being with

I also agree walleye fishermen are weird :sHa_sarcasticlol:

We spent a whole 3 hours on pike....biggest was about 34-36" maybe 12-14lbs. As much as I would have loved to find some some big LML gators....we went there for walleye. And from what I had heard all the real good pike spots were a fair hike from our camp. Plus we have lots of great pike lakes we fish that aren't 6 hours away.

Those are some really nice walleye congrats. I don't think it matters what you prefer to target, when you get something big for the species its always a great feeling. Especially that first look when you know you got a gooder :).
