Hey Guys,

Before my Dad puts his boat away for the year we are going to do one more fishing day with my Boys(4&6).

We are by no means good fisher and need a decent size lake for his 20’ Regal boat.

He was thinking Chain lakes or Ghost. Where are we going to find better fishing with these cold morning?

Thanks

Crawling Valley is your best bet for steady pike and walleye action and nice launch. Easiest reservoir near Calgary to catch fish.

X2 on Crawling Valley, second choice would be Travers.

Friend at CV last weekend came out of the canal from the marina and turned right along the beach (he has never been there before) and promptly dinged his prop on a rock.

If you do head to CV, follow another boat out of the marina area. There is a hydrology map of CV available too, just can't seem to find it right now

I know Crawling Valley well, prefer Newell for an extra 1/2 hour.

Have you spent much time on there this summer? I'm a 3 hour drive away so don't get out as much as I'd like. It (and the attached lake) used to be dynamite, but I found the last year or so has been WAY tougher fishing, after they lowered the water to do the canal work. Was this summer better? My wife and I are hoping to spend a fair bit of time out that way this winter, if the fishing picks up...

Well CV was a great recommendation. Both my boys caught their fist unassisted fish today.
My dad got one and I got two.
