New fly fisher

Hey, was wondering if anybody could get me some info if its worth while to ffly fish below diickson dam? is it the reddeer river below the dam? Thanks

Yes it is the Red Deer river.I fish out there quite a bit, in fact i'm heading out ther in an hour or so. As far as fishing it goes it depends what your after but if your lke myself and just try to catch what i can then i've found foamy hoppers work pretty well for goldeye and trout. I've never caught a pike or walleye out of there on my fly rod yet (this is my first year fly fishing) but have pulled a few trout and goldeye just using a foamy fly.
