Bow River

In one week I will be headed to the bow river for hopfully my first Brown trout. I will be fishing in or near Cockrane. Does anyone have any tips they could share with me like what flies to us? I've heard dries work well. Any advice would be helpful.

Hello Mr. goldeye, if you can get into calgary, goto fish creek park. Ive had some good luck with browns there. If you are in cochrane, why dont you head north up the hiway 22 and go to Fallen timber creek? Good fishing for browns there.
Head north on 22 turn left(west) at the bergan road. go 200 meteres past the bergan store and park at davidson camp. Fish down stream. Ive pulled in a few big browns there, my biggest being a 24 inch monster. and lots of 12-14 inch. Try a yellow stimulator or a chernobel ant.

dont know about flies, but rainbow trout and brown trout pattern crankbaits work great.
