View Full Version : help! with hook up of pulley steering on my boat?

hi i need some help with the steering on my boat...its got the old pulley style...i have the motor and all pulleys hooked up and running to the front all run smooth...but im not sure where to go from there...i have no idea how to hook it up to the steering wheel :S Any help?

Dad had one of those. If I remember right with the motor centered you put two or three wraps of cable around the centre of the spool on the back of the wheel.

I wish I could find a diagram online. You tighten after everything is threaded.

I hate to say anything online as it is hard to describe and can be disastrous if it comes undone out on the lake at top speed. So be very careful and get someone to help if you have any doubts at all.:scared:

thanks alot for your help i got it all hooked up and it runs smooth
