You might have to spend a little more than $80, but take a look at a TFO (Temple Fork Outfitters) combo. In my opinion when it comes to flyfishing, cheap = frustration. You should consider spending money on a good quality line first and foremost.... Scientific Anglers, Cortland, and Rio all make decent lines. Expect around $50, give or take a few bucks, for line. Consider your rod next as a fly rod set up doesn't necessarily need an expensive reel. A 6 weight TFO rod is what I might suggest to someone just getting started.

Also, consider getting a reel that has spare spools available. You'll catch a lot more fish if you have both a floating line and a sinking line or sink tip line. Both have their applications depending on the time of year and the water you're fishing.
