when ever i go to get my licence or renewing it, i do it so often that i know it costs around $60 or so. i just got it renewed today and my WIN card was expired so had to get a new one, i just noticed they don't charge you the $40 for the WIN card anymore and just an $8 activation fee plus the licence of $28. thats almost half the price, so happy.

Ummmm I think your a little confused on that one...... The WIN card has been $8 every 5 years for at least the last 20ish years I have been buying a fishing licence. A few years ago it got changed to a one time $8 fee which is good for life. Licences have always been around $28/year.

Perhaps you are thinking of hunting licences? A wildlife certificate and deer license comes to about $60 per year.

I have checked with an Officer. You don't need WIN to fish if you are over 65, but you DO need a WIN if you want to draw special harvest license.
Just renewed my dad's WIN today, $6.

Win only needed for anything with tags fishing or hunting even though us old guys dont need a fishing license if not using the tag system.
