What a cool looking fish. It's also very interesting the kype that has developed on that fish this time of year (knowing these are sterile hybrids) and that a kype is developed during the spawn.

Also, since they are a hybrid of Browns and Brookies (chars) which spawn in the FALL seeing this in the spring is stranger yet to me.

Kype’s are just an indicator of sexual maturity. Once reached the kype never leaves. Coloration is all that changes during spawn.
