You can save money and do it yourself. Its not hard. I have done 2000sqft in my house-lots of corners-long hallway-etc. I have also done one room starting from unfinished hardwood-the cost of supplies/stain, etc resulting in no savings versus the prefinished stuff.

A freind of mine had one room done by an outfit (quick and careless) {not very tight and poor line alternating} and when he seen my floors he decided to do the next room himself. After helping him get started and showing him a few tricks/problem areas solutions he did a much better job than the other room. He is now considering tearing out the other room and redoing it - a bit too fussy.

I am in your area and have a used flooring stapler for sale cheap.
