Well me and the bro-in-law headed out yesterday morning to wabamun. Thought I'd try out the new boat before the snow flies. Well the rods just happened to be in the boat, It was a little chilly at -5 when we launched at sun-up but the fishing was non-stop. We snapped a few photo's of the larger fish we caught. The first fish (in the photo) weighed in at under 2lbs so I figure 1 of two things 1. Everthing I know about physics goes out the window or 2. I need a new scale. That being said these we're close in size and very thick any guess on the weight (ball park?)

...around 7 - 10 lbs on most of those fish (maybe a bit more on the first). Hard to tell without a bottom view of the belly. The thickness of a fish definitely helps with the guessing game. NICE FISH BTW !

Cheers,

Yeah, me thinks you need a new scale.

i'd go with the 7-10 range for the bigger ones; some of them look to be pretty deep in the body. wab pike are not the longest fish (as far as pike go)out there. i've caught a 19lber out of there that had to be well under 40" long. can't wait to get out there...
cheers

I don't trust your scale. I'm guessing 4-5 lbs, at bare minimum.

Absolutely, a couple of these were maybe 30" but at the same time I'm thinking close to 10lbs. You know when you can barely get your hand around them. Being so thick. Can't wait to go back:wave:
