This doesn't really have anything too do with the outdoors or hunting so i hope it's ok too post this???
Anywaze...
Does anyone know who sells them? Optima batteries??
I am pondering getting one for my quad but I also need one for my car.
The car needs a Optima 34/78R and I have no idea what the quad needs.
I searched online at wallmart, canadian tire and costco and couldn't find anything
I guess i'll have too go look the old fashioned way.
Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanx

If you don't go to Red Deer, give them a call anyhow and they can point you to a Battery shop in Edmonton probably.

You can get them at Walmart. At least, in Sherwood Park you can.
Got one for my boat. Works awesome and no worries about throwing
acid around.
Canadian Tire and Sears have a similar type of battery as well under their own brand.

I've had both the Optima Battery and the Canadian Tire equivalent Eliminator spiral-grid battery and had no problems whatsoever with either of them. The next battery I get will be one (or two) of the two, but I'm presently still on the factory battery in my Power Wagon.

I'd forgotten to add I think your post does indeed have to do with hunting and fishing, most of us rely on our vehicles to get there and back....... reliably we hope. Good quality batteries that can withstand the hammering they may encounter on rutted roads and off-roading (where allowed) are pretty related to our interests.
For those not familiar with the spiral-grid type batteries, they're worth looking into. Instead of rehashing their construction myself, I'll include a link. I'm quite sure the Canadian Tire ones are manufactured by Exide.

Rog, when they do have them at Costco, that is probably the best price you will find. They are excellent batteries:) Unfortunately, they don't make them for quads.
The marine ones are great.

One more for your list is Deka. They make high quality AGM batteries that fit most atvs, and they are quite a bit cheaper than Odyssey or Optima.

Well i am pretty much decided on going with aftermarket lead acid as opposed too the dry cell for the car, way too much cash for a stupid car battery, I would still like too get a dry cell or gel cell for the quad though, does anyone have first hand knowledge of wjether you can leave a gel cell in the quad over winter with out causing the battery any damage? will the actual gel stuff freeze?
As this is my primary concern i was told to go the dry cell route as cold and winter supposedly won't harm it???
My knowledge of batteries is only what people have told me?
