I'm trying to figure something out.
I realize that there must be a reel grease out thats good for sub zero temps but can't find it.

Do most of you just run with the reels in combos or is there another spot that you can actually buy some decent reels from that are suitable for outside?

Would it be best to open up a good ultralight reel and put on some sub zero grease or is there a smarter way to go about it?

This is what I use. You can pick it up at many fishing stores in the city I believe as well.

I ran standard Quantum open water spinning reels on my ice rods without problem last winter. One thing I have heard of guys using is a good quality synthetic firearms oil inside their reels, supposed to stay slick down to low temps to prevent cycling issues in rifle actions. Should work as well in reels, that what I'll be trying this winter.
