Well, I made it out on the 16th. with my son-in-law. The chinook didn't hit until later in the afternoon so we had the morning and a couple of hours in the PM without whitecaps. The water was very clear. There were a lot of floating weed patches on the water so we were constantly cleaning them off our hooks. We went over one ledge and saw a huge pike laying just over the lip of the ledge. When it saw us it just slowly turned and swam into the deeper water. We must have flogged the water around that spot for 20 minutes but didn't get a bump. We had 4 fish on but all got off before they got to the boat. When the chinook hit we dicided we had had enough and trolled out way out of the north arm. Right at the gap we caught a nine pounder. That kept us from getting skunked. When we got back to the boat launch the wind really picked up and we had quite a time loading the boat. Anyway, we didn't freeze and it was a great way to end the boating season. If anyone is thinking of going this week they had pulled the docks up onto shore.
