I am thinking about picking one of these up.

Does anyone have any good or bad things to say about them? Is there something better that I should be looking for?

Thanks

That's what I use and I have no issues with it whatsoever. I get a really good battery life from a full charge but I have never used other flashers so I have no comparison.

It''s incredibly sensitive, even picks up the swivels on my line.

Sounds good. Can you use it on open water?

I was told at last years Ice show, the Bird 55 was introduced. It was the tak of the show. IMO that is the now the "top of the line" for Hardwater Sonars. Been looking at these also, but running a Marcum LX5(maybe have both ??LOL) Been checking out other forums and its all good.

Good reviews and comments to be found Here: http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=38003.0

Target separation is only 2.5 inches for the bird as opposed to 3/4 of an inch for the Marcum Lx5, but I like the auto settings and digital readout on the bird.

The ice 45 and 35 don't come with a soft pack case like the 55 which I don't understand
