Can't get out to the normal spots up north this weekend with the boat and wondering if there is any point going to the narrows by the reserve and trying to pull Walley off shore??
Anybody been out or seen anybody out there??

I have a couple hours on Saturday to burn.

Was out there a few week-ends ago and the fishing was OK. Was real busy,
lots of people out, lots of crossed lines.
The water is WAY up, only about 2 feet of shore between the water and
the high grass. Fishing from the south east shore is all but impossable.
Also got charged $5 for parking again.

there's always North Saskatchewan river:D took a drive down this morning to a favorite spot of mine after work, and it looks so good i think im gonna wet a line tomorrow for some Sturgeon or walleyes and see if they are alive and kickin'

walleys are most deffinetly alive as me an drake caught a few last night one was around 5 lbs and the other ws 10+ lbs, the thing was a freakin hog

I have tried the NSR a few times in the past.

I only went close to devon, really. I am on the west end of Edmonton.

I have never caught anything in the NSR, but a lil pike.

Anyone go to a spot near the west end/devon that seems to have some luck?

I like to go walking for a few Kms down the shore, then set up a chair and just relax..but catching a few would be nice too!!

Devon is my last choice to fish the NSR, unless im after suckers, burbot, and (further upstream of devon) sturgeon. dont get me wrong, there is fish all over the river, but alot of places are far better than others, and some are only good at certain times of the year.

if im after walletyes and goldeyes, plus saugers for good measure, in in my home town downstream of edmonton, if im after sturgies its around genesee, or between, fort sask and sherwood park. Pike are all over, some big pike in the area by that golf course along the river of some golf course near tewilliger (spl?) nice deep hole there, youd think sturgies when you seen the depth, but heh, a rare find. No word of a lie, this same area has been known to puke out Rockies for some reason. and not to long ago a friend of a friend was flyfishing for rising goldeye so he thought.....out by fort sask...... but caught a rocky mountain whitefish.
