View Full Version : My Antelope - Herd Buck with a Bow...

After 60kms and 19+ hours of hiking (2 weekends and 3 difference decoy partners); 8-10 missed opportunities (too far, too quick, wrong wind, wrong setup, too small); and being charged once to within 30 feet (just me walking, not the decoy)...

I was successful in arrowing a nice herd buck at 20-25 yards on the last day of the season with the help of Zeke the decoy!

We watched this guy successfully fight (heads down dueling) another challenger and then got him to come in over 500 yards (at a run) to the decoy.

It was a long day and a long 1.7km hike back to the truck with him on my shoulders...and lots of other stories...but all in all a lot of fun!

Now just have to wait to get him measured (rough score was about 65) and wait even longer for Wayne to get him mounted!

Very nice! Way to hunt out the season, sounds like you wanted to make that multi-year tag worth the wait.

Congrats on a nice buck Roo. Sounds like all your hard work paid off.
I can't wait till I get my archery tag in a couple years.
