Some Jack***** went and cut the fences and drove all over with a quad and even cut the USA/CAN fence and was driving around in the USA. The neighbor across the line went to give them hell and they took off for CAN again so the neighbor phones the brother-inlaw up and tells him. He didn't catch the guy, but found out he was driving a green quad (like that does any good). Now we have a bunch of fence to fix. Then you wonder why Ranchers won't let anybody on there land. Sorry for the rant it just gets frustrating!! some people think they can go where ever they want. :mad3:

That sucks. Everybody down there was so good about letting guys on. Hopefully they realize it's just one A-hole and not everybody.

Did you call RCMP IBET or Border Patrol in the US? I am sure they would be quite interested...

Actually, it is a good excuse to let more hunters on the land. For every hunter there are two more eyes and a cell phone looking out for the property (yes I know, not everyone looks at it that way).

Good point, Troll. Actually I've had more than one land owner say exactly the same thing to me. Kind of refreshing.

Why would a fella even think about cutting a fence line or for that matter cutting the barbwire that separates the us on the 49th? Must have been a few bricks short of a load to do something like that.
How much fence does your brother in law have to fix-was it only one section plus the border piece or was there quite a bit cut?

If a guy would just ask he doesn't have a problem letting people on if you walk, and it's been more that one guy doing this kind of crap this year!! it seems every ****** got drawn this year. It was either an Elk hunter or Antelope hunter. The funny part about it is there aren't to many elk in that field. This isn't the first time for this neither, a couple years ago we caught a fella from the big city out there and he said he had every right to be out there. I don't think they would like it if the ranchers went to there house and spun doughnuts in the front yard, I bet they would phone the cops!!
When and where was it exactly? I may have some info for you.

I like to think thats the best reason to let us responsible hunters on their land... i have played watchdog before and landed a handful of guys flock shootin from the road in F and W hands

I'd guess that this situation is more about running drugs into or out of the US than is has to do with hunting. Criminals posing as 'hunters' testing weaknesses along the border.

I don't think so, as they also cut some fence no where near the boarder as well. Not to many drug runners carry hunting rifles either.

Probably quite true, but if you think about it, it makes no sense at all. Morons, poachers, trespassers etc. by definition don't ask for permission. Good responsible people do. Stopping the good responsible people by refusing permission doesn't do one thing the prevent the morons from desecrating your land or stock. It's exactly like confiscating the firearms of everyone who has a PAL and has registered them because you want to stop violent crime... Those folks aren't the criminals....

This is serious why not call the Homeland Security on the other side and Canadian Border Patrol. This is not just about a fence it is breach of national security. The fence represent the territorial border. It is more like an invasion.
Imagine doing this on their US border fence on the southern part , the DMZ zone South and North Korea or just imagine it being done on the infamous Berlin Wall. They will need DND test to identify you cause you will be blown to pieces:sick:
At least home land security will be sending their fleet of armada and you will not be having this problem anymore:D. And the Canadian Border Patrol would be pump up as they are bored in their post.
