I need some type of material to mount a replica of a 45 pound salmon to. Does anyone know where I can get a peice of faux sandstone or some other suitable material

you could make your own, I did a couple waterfalls, used styrofoam to build them, then covered with chicken wire, then a layer of window screen. Used thin set mortar in a couple of layers, it worked out really nice and its very strong too.

A nicely stained piece of Cedar should look nice also.

Get a piece of styrofoam from home depot and spray it with some flek stone ( fancy spray paint). You can get lots of different types, like a marble finish, or stone. Lots of colors too.
As long as it dosent get bumped or handled too much styrofoam looks good. I ve made many flaming "c"'s and painted them. Go flames go!!
