Just wondering if you guys have ever used Killz to prime plywood and if it leaves a smooth surface or can you still see the wood grain? Im casing windows and am not sure if i should use plywood or mdf?

if you're painting go with MDF for sure. Paints up beautifully. Very nice to work with, but wear a dust mask when you're cutting and sanding..the dust gives a killer headache!!
Killz is a great cover up for stains and will even cover up silicone without "flashing" (orange peeling), but it probably wouldn't cover up the grain...you'd still "feel" it. Unless you gave it 3 coats...way too much work. MDF...much easier to work with.

X2 on what Calgary Dave said.

I've never used Killz on plywood, but I'm pretty sure that it would take a fair amount to cover up the grain of the wood. MDF will be much easier to work with in the long run, and you know for sure you'll get a nice finish :)
