here is one a made for perch and trout after seeing a pic on the net, cost about 4 bux minus the rod

Its a three way kinda trigger, a one inch key ring slides over the second eye on the rod (which you have to bend a bit so the ring catchs it barely). A fish nibbles pulling the tip a little, the line kinda pushes the eylet from the ring and the tension on the spring pulls the ring away. If you look at the second photo you can see that you can adjust the rod tension by moving the eyelet with the key ring up or down and you can adjust the spring tension two ways. this should allow you to adjust to any type of bite

for those who pm'ed me for a better pic, hope this helps and I used some maple for the wood that I had left over from capping some stairs but hockey sticks would work great too
