When are you heading to Kitimat? I used to live there for 25 years. I could hook you up with some good folks and some good fishing holes. Are you heading down the ocean or are you river fishing? Let me know I'll contact some folks for ya and get a report. Last I heard the fishing has been good not spectacular but good. Chinook numbers were solid and the Chum salmon numbers are lower than in the past, but really that is a good thing. It creates more chances at hooking into a chinook. Pinks I know are trickling in as well. I was talking to my buddy back home last week and this is what he said. If you want I'll be talking to him tonight I can get an updated outlook for you. Hope you enjoy your trip.

Locals could probally point you in the direction of good crabbing.......bring a large net, and chest waders and scoop them up in the shallows at low tide. My understanding is that prawns need to be trapped in 100+ feet of water, meaning a boat is likely needed. Traps are cheap......in the $40 range.
