Was out looking for grouse this afternoon when we crossed paths with a couple deer hunters. Didn't intend to interupt their hunt so we thought we would go say a quick hi and then go find another area so we wouldn't mess them up. Anyway, dude asks what we're after, and when I say grouse he informs me that I'm breaking the law because I've got my dog with me. When I asked how that was illeagle, he said it was against the law to hunt Big game with a dog. Didn't see the need to argue the point, so we went on our way. Unless I'm missing something, you can still use your bird dog even if there is an open season for something else, can't you? Can't really think of a bird season that does'nt run concurrent to some big game season. Just how big are the Grouse in Alberta anyway?

Rottie is right, and the idjit that was giving you the lesson in legalities, should read his regs a bit more carefully, maybe he needs someone to explain them to him?:confused:

Hunters hunt LEGALLY all the time in deer season with dogs, with upland and waterfowl the quarry.
