I did find a lake with some open shoreline, but no luck today. The rocks were scary too, would have had to crawl on my tail to land a fish after all that wind blown spray. :D

no, Im about 20 miles from the forks, probably 30 miles if you followed the river, it winds around pretty good. 30 miles south of Brooks if thats easier :)
