All the pot hole lakes around Edmonton I have been on are frozen over with at least 4 inches of ice, and with this cold the last couple of days, will be a lot thicker daily.

Maybe. I live in South Ed but have never really ventured around the area yet...always seem to end up somewhere else!

It would be nice to find somewhere decent close to home though :)

was just at hermitage in the river valley
and their was water coming up over the Ice all over and only 4" by the docks. I think the snow built up and pushed down the Ice.

Hehe, Sorry to get everyone exited i guess the term pothole lake is the wrong one. The "pothole lake" is actully a large storm drain that the neighbor hood people use for skating and the like. no fish other than some stickleback in there

Sorry guys the purpose of my post was just to give an idea of the ice thickness in edmonton area

Dogboy,

Did you have any luck at Hermitage? Want to take the kids fishing close to home.

naw I did not really stick around with all that water coming up around the dock, I was not going to try and walk out on it.
I just punched a hole Off the dock and drooped a line for a few min. lots of bugs in the water so lots of food for them. but to cold with no tent up.
I'm going to try Cardiff today.Ill let you know.
