Man, wide open with almost a week of -20 to -30? Wow. I don't think I've really seen the lake during the early winter.

I live a block from the lake, every night I go by thinking hurry up and freeze! Last year it did not freeze until 18th of Dec. We had -40 and lower then.. Big deep lake with lots of waves. Supposed to be calm next week so hopefully will finish it off.
Has to be frozzen over now ! Dec 12

The latest Cold Lake was open is 14th of Jan. Avg... is 18th of Dec. No wheres near yet maybe next weekend will be solid...
This is a big lake that the wind keeps open and takes a long time to acclimatize. Hoping to be ice fishing in Jan.

Cold Lake Officially froze yesterday!! Of note the way through the Provincial park is not possible for 98% of vehicles at this time as there is a big build up of ice from waves pushing up water. At least 12 to 18 inch straight drop to lake surface. Anybody have a chainsaw? Either or will be a while before the ice will be safe for vehicles.
