anyone ever head to jackson lake in the winter? its a quad in/ sled in only lake and wondering how the lake freezes and what to expect..me and a few buddies want to head out that way for a day or two in early january..its about half hr to 45 mins outside lac la biche..i know theres some amazing walleye fishing if you head a decent ways from the main entrance to the lake but thats in summer..never fished it through the ice though..any info would be great

Yep, the trail in from the Touchwood Lake road is a little bumpy. Quads or sleds only. :D

ya i kinda figured it was on accesible by sled or quad..how does the lake freeze? any word on how much ice is on it yet?

I am on Jackson Lake a few times each winter. The Lake tends to have flood water on it but we make it on quads fine enough. You can generally see the flood water areas well enough but be prepared for some digging and pushing later in the day if you go. Definitely worth checking out.

I don't know anything about the current ice conditions however.

thanks for the info..we will be heading in on sleds so getting stuck shouldnt be as bad
