Hey Wolf Tracker;
It is against the law to burn wood on the ice.
It also makes a hell of a mess.

It is not against the law. I called SRD about this last year and spoke directly with a warden. He said have a fire all you like but be courteous and clean up as much as possible when you are done. Big logs left on the ice could become a hazard to snowmobilers.

Too bad they are still netting this lake. The sportsfisherman put a ton of money into the economy. Hanmore produced large Pike and Whites 10-15 years ago.

Fire on the ice is not illegal. Making a heckuva mess is. So cleanup after yerself and yer fine.

netting? hmm ya thats not good. I fished there last feb almost the same spot as wolf tracker, maybe 75 yards farther east and pike were on really good, all on still lines. Nothing huge but average definately over 2.5 lbs, the biggest for the few hours we were there was 3 lbs. My ol'ladycaught her first hard water pike there.

The nets may be from bioligists setting test nets! I have been talking with a bioligist about the poor population of whites in the lake.I am still waiting to hear back from her.

Buckmaster, Please let us know the results of the tests. This lake use to be an awesome fishery. The average pike over 10lbs. I have caught whites over 6lbs 10 years ago. What happened???
