Hot spots around Edmonton

Hey all, looking to go out fishing for the first time this season. Hoping to stay within a couple hours of the city. Anyone been successful?... suggestions?

wabamun was pretty good if you dont mind C&R..went last thurs with mooseknuckle and he pullled out 5..one being a 12 lb'r

I was out at Coal lake just southeast of leduc for the afternoon. We took a pile of kids out & caught a few pike later in the day.Not great fishing but not bad either. Sitting in the sun watching tip-ups around the fire pit is never bad.We drove on at the north boat launch & never had any problems.18" of ice & i saw plenty of 1 tons out there so its as close to safe ice as i'd ever say,but watch yourself> Goodluck to you!!!!
