age of jiffy model 30

I recently pickup a used jiffy model 30 and with a little tlc I got it running fairly good but what I was wondering is if anyone can tell me how old it might be. serial # 860985,# on eng shroud is 670 104b 6030,and there is only one carb adjustment screw.Looks like most model 30(white engine shroud with yellow jiffy sticker(3hp).tks

I have a similiar jiffy and I bought in 1993, still runs great even after sitting idle for 10 years.

Mines a Jiffy 30 from 1994 but it has 2 adjustments screws on the carb,high and low speed adjustments.

I believe the two numbers at the start of the serial # is the year.I have a jiffy 3hp from 88 and 01 and that is how the serial #'s start , I think yours would be a 1986 model

If you have a Tecumseh engine try this link, it may or may not help.
Click on basic engine service information. According to this only 2004 and up have the manufacture date in the serial #
