Guys,

I spend the weekend camping at Dolberg and the fishing was very very slow....

In 2 days my fishing party only caught 2 fish and I got both of them.

Did anybody else have any luck this weekend? I couldn't figure out where the fish were and what we were doing wrong.

The good part was that one of the fish I caught and released was a good size, I'll post pics later this afternoon.

I wasn't just the marshmallow hatch that wasn't on, we tried everything. We only saw maybe 3 fish down the holes the entire weekend. We must have been too deep or too shallow or something.

Garrick.I am sorry you had a hard time catching trophy fish up there. This lake produces a constant size of trout between 3 to 10 lbs.
Try changing your method of fishing and use 4 lb fluorocarbon line with a marmish hook with three maggots. I will send you a pm for my photos to check out.
Cheers:D

Paul,

Thanks for the tips, we've actually met a few times out at Dolberg in the summer. Here is a pic of the big fish from Sunday.

Who cares about the hair. The smile says it all. Well Done.
Mr. Rainbow that is a grande poissone ! I show you how to get big ones in early spring when the ice is rotten. That when it is a blast to fish.
The fishing was slow because of the beer and baileys. I always pass blame to fire water. That fish is 3 to 4 lb range.
Cheers :D

Great trout. Way to go. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Pigeon lake was awful last weekend. Saw a few big whites but nothing was interested. The odd Walleye was caught and released.

:sHa_shakeshout: The fishing was good but had to put up with those little dinkers biting all the time. Weather was nice but people upset that there was a fire ban.
Today the ban was lifted and smiles are every were.
Here is a photo of Mr. Rainbow and his buddies.
The bigger one was caught Sept. 2008

Here is another pic of the two fish that we kept. Nice orange colored meat. Perfect size for a tin foil bake on the barbeque. It was a hot day at Dolberg and I got a good sunburn. It looked like everyone at the lake had a ball on the weekend. :character0053:
