I've been thinking of taking a fishing float trip down the Oldman River and wondering if anyone could recommend a decent inflatable boat that would do for the trip. It'll be either a 1 or 2 man couple day trip so something durable but that I could handle by myself is what I need. I know Zodiac and Metzler used to make good boats. Unfortunately storage space is limited where I live so whatever I get must be foldable or inflatable.

Any ideas?

I have had two RubberDuck Inflatables from B.C. and have loved both. Far less expensive than the other two mentioned, but seem as good as the Zodiac I used to own.

I've owned 2 from boatstogo.com (saturn brand), and use them all the time on the bow. 12 ft with the inflatable floor.

Aquamarine out of BC (imported) are decent, have a 13ft for 2yrs with no issues, they also sell them online at ebay, keep watching there as once in a while they put a few new ones on with no reserve, picked mine off for just over $500.

Jimy,
The first one I bought last year was the RDA 320. It is just under 11 feet. It was Ok for two of us with some equipment, and really flew with my 15 HP motor. With all the crap I take though, it just did not have enough room. Sold it and bought the RDA 360. 12 feet and way wider. Now I have room for motor, trolling motor, and sonar on back, lots of room for the other junk, including the porta potty for the ladies or grandkids, and gave me more room to add rod and cup holders. It is far heavier though. The 320 was about 90 lbs in total, and the 360 is closer to 200 lbs. when together. Depends on how many people you want to take, motor size, and amount of stuff you want to take.

If your are just planning the one trip and don't wish to purchase a boat you can rent rafts as well. We did a trip on the RDR a couple years ago and we rented the equipment. I don't know if Lethbridge would have a place that rents, maybe the University.

me too got the 14 foot and its awsome id take it anywhere, only problem very heavy and has to be trailered. zebec costs more but worth the extra and has twice the thickness for abrasion then any other model, i had a zodiac and sold it so i could get a zebec

how far up do you plan on starting? Id like to do some float trips this summer, with my canoe tho. The Bow down thru the forks and maybe all the way to the Hat. Maybe the Oldman too.

I'm thinking of starting below the weir in Lethbridge and trying to get to the Hat as well. Gotta getta boat first.
