Looking to take my nephews out to Pigeon tomorrow. How is the lake for driving on and what entrances are good for getting on the lake?

i decided to go to pigeon to try to fill my tags on a nice day . i will be on the provincial side . in an black S10 with a orange quad and blank pop up tent. or just the quad if there is too much snow on the ice. there is a big drop off in the lake there. i have it marked on the GPS.

Hate to burst your bubble but you poached that burbot, you are not allowed to keep any between feb.1 and mar.31. I made the same mistake last year. Basically the only time of year u can catch em anyways.

Nice work on the nine fish, I have got skunked twice at pigeon this year.

OOPS!! Best read the regs, I just took it for granted you could keep the BURBOT!!! Oh well, wonder how many will be stuck in the commercial net this summer!!!!

i was out in the middle about 14-15" with about 3-4" white ice on top. and about 4-7" of snow but there are some really large hard drifts out there. there is a few tracks driving all the way across.

its easier to get the the center from the west side. the west side for about 300 meters its smooth driving on mabye 2" of snow. the east side is mostly large hard frozen drifts. I was on my sled out there all day.

Great thanks. Yeah I guess we could take buddies snowmobile too, hopefully we can get on at mulhurst. One of these weekends coming up we'll be going.

I drove on at Sandholm point ( the illegal fence is finally down) last week & the drifts were fairly large & deep. Had to back out of them a few times! 15 " to 18" of ice seemed to be the average where i moved around. Ya, the Ling are set to spawn right away so they closed the take on 'em for a bit, a couple of years ago. Maybe that'll turn the damn whites on to feeding more!
