Going to the Bow this weekend(Fish Creek) and taking my spinning rod out there for the first time in over ten years(always flyfish).Just wondering what are the best lures to use and what colors.Have to make a trip to Wholesale or The Fishin Hole and spend some $$$$.

I have heard that guys are getting alot of decent browns on floating rapalas. You could always try some smaller spoons or some spinners.

rainbow or brown trout pattern minnowspins, or panther martins, try different colours and patterns, have fun and experiment.

What size of floating Raps should one use? I was looking at them yesterday, and I withheld from picking any up as I didn't know what size to get.

anything from 1 to 4 inches blue and white are killers

Try anything from the F-5 to F-9 Original floaters ,if your fishing a deep run or you want to cast farther out then a Countdown will allow you to better do this. Have fun out there!

floating raps are definately the way to go , altho the long cast are awsome too < they look more like a sucker minnow and are deadly for browns !!

I used to fly fish the bow a ton and we would float every sunday , we would catch a lot of fish but found we caught consistantly bigger fish with rapalas , especially in the fall !!!

I should have said that I "lose" a lot of gear fishing the Bow. Oops.

Last time I think we lost around $60 worth . . . but that was a full day and a full family effort. And, it also resulted in stiches in #1 son's forehead. The scar has mostly healed up now.
