It has been slow lots of fish on the depth finder but not as aggressive.
Don't mind SPLAKE0 he is a bit of an expert on them so slow for him is 1-2 fish . I would say offer him lunch and see if he can show you around.
Not saying I am jealous but I have caught nada last few weeks on CL. If I should you my hot spots I would owe you lunch!

Mark-Edmonton,
I went out to my spot on Sunday afternoon. (The place I told you about.) I was on spot and fishing by 1:40 and by 2:20, I caught a 78cm one.
They don't show up on the fish-finder, but come around after banging it off of the bottom. Bang it for a few jigs, then bring it up about a ft or two and jig about a foot and let it fall. They hit it on the fall.
I used a perch colour bionic bucktail tipped with half an anchovie. My usual greyish colour wasn't working. So pick up one of those at the fishin' hole also.:)
Last weekend, I caught 5; one legal size.
Good luck!

If you see my Red Ranger with white cap come over and we'll talk. I will be on the south shore of CL between Garnet point and the spruce trees about 6 km strech. I go for coffee in the morning at A&W and head out around 8:30 am.

Thanks Dean. do you recommend anchovies over smelts. I was thinking about picking up some small suckers as well. thanks for all the tips.

I use the flat pack of anchovies. About 10 per pack.($11) You can get them here at either one of the Esso stations.
If you don't find splake0, follow the ice road along that shore at the x mark, and you'll see the road kinda bend sharply, going out towards the open water. Then you'll see a single set of tracks going straight fwd, which forms a small loop, thats where I turn around. I was there on Sunday in about 108ft of water. This straight track is about 75 ft...
Wish I was going to be in town for you, but I'll be in Edmonton until Friday night.
