hell ya it is. i could hardly believe how busy the river was on the holiday monday!
and its sweet they are biteing on anything. prince seemed to be the ticket for me.
nothing like a 19.5 inch bow to bring ya out of the winter blues
i am back in a week and a half for a few days so i hope it will be warm enough to get out one day.

Wow, i fished by the 22x bridge and up. Not a thing, I used a strike indicator and dangled a sjw, princes. I also tried a wooley bugger with a sinking tip, aswell as with floating line. nothing..again. What is the secret to the bow..?
Any advice?

Thanks in advance,
Fishstix!!

i havent fish the bow much, infact the fish i caught in my last three outings count for almost all my fish caught on the bow.

but i remember this last summer is was on the bow flaling away and i asked a old japanese guy for some tips. he turned to me and said in a samuri kinda voice
" cast cast, cast again"

four casts later i hooked in.
i think the hardest part of fising the bow is recognizing the seams and setting the hook every time your indicator does anything slightly abnormal.

Only advice I can give is keep switching your rig. Change leader lengths, flies etc. I start out with 9 feet and sometimes end up with 11 or 12 feet with multiple flies. And whenever you see that indicator move, set the hook. even if its very subtle.

Good fishin...

Instead of changing lures/flies all the time, put on a clouser minnow, find your fish and then cast to it, and then watch what happens.

Casting upstream in front of the trout will improve your chances(less time for fish to study your offer).

At this time of year they're holding very close to the bank, so be very careful how you approach the bank you intend to fish.

Bow river is so full of fish that you have to be doing something seriously wrong if you're not catching any!

Good Luck to y'all!!!

For us non fly fishing people, what is a clouser minnow? Many different things so up on google.

It's just an imitation of a minnow, made mostly of hair and a bit of tinsel, it can be weighted or not.
