spent some time on baptiste last weekend.
intended to use our buddy's cabin as a launch point and fish calling but we had lightning 90% of the wekend so we stayed close and fished baptiste.
this coupled with my outboard crapping out made us only able to be out friday, a few hours sat., and a few hours sunday. very sad...
when we WERE fishing it was very GOOD tho!!!!!!!!!
easily got our limit of one each per day!!!!!!!!!
each day we landed a dozen or so pike and walleye each.
the best fish were a 71cm pike and a 55cm walleye.
the coolest part was friday.
we tried perch fishing for a few hours.
landed dozens but no big ones.
they were very bitie tho. got a few trolling full sized spoons!!!!!!!
the cool part was that while perch jigging, we probably landed as many wee 3-4" walleye as we did perch!!!!
awesome to see future 'eye populations doing so well!!!!
all in all, a dissappointing weekend due to weather and motor trouble but managed many good fish a had a ton of fun!!!
cheers, gw.

My family has a lakelot at Baptiste and I hit it as often as I can. I friggin' love that area. I was out for 2 weeks this July and the fishing was fantastic. We hit our limits each day, too and were landing some real nice Walleye.

Grats on the wicked fishing Wildman, too bad the weather sucked. Btw, it was 30+ degrees every day we were out there in July...hehe :innocent:
