Taking the Class out Fishing near Edmonton... Suggestions??

Hey all,

I'm taking my UofA class out fishing this coming Saturday. I'm hoping to show some of these city boys (and girls :)) what fishing is all about, and would like to get them all to catch their first fish. Looking for a lake within 90min of Edmonton that has a good bite right now. Aiming for mainly pike and perch (hopefully decent sized pike). Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

coals been good for me all year.. North end. Lots of hammer handles but the odd nice one mixed within. Friend caught a 8 pound one last week

What part of Wab do you guys suggest for pike thru the ice?? Accessed from where?

i think they are talking about the open water in wab town site by the plant....always good fishing there in the spring...i used to fish the other side of the lake by the plant just out side of the reserve...for that spot u would take the provincal park turn off then carry on past the park entrance past the reserve to the plant there are two points there and of either one we caught allot of pike and white there....not sure on the ice conditons out there as i havent been to wab this year...good luck..
