Hi im wondering what weight of leader abd tippet should i be using for this stretch of the bow river??

3x - 6x. Generally, take the size of your hook and divide by 3; that's the size of your tippet.

For example size 12 fly divided by 3 = 4x tippet

So your leader can be size size 3 even if you tie on the correct tippet at the end.

This is a GENERAL RULE. Use common sense too. If you tying on a tiny nymph especially at this time of year, be warned that a really light tippet make work well for the fly but when you hook a 30 incher, 1 lb 1/2 test tippet might make it very difficult or impossible to land the fish and you will go from :D to :mad3: to :cry:.

If in doubt, I always go heavier.
