Made a quick stop at the lake today with my 11 yr old after we scouted my moose hunting area. My boy rode my old 340 yammy for 40 kms following me around in the cutlines, then when we got to the lake he got to ride it about 3 kms down the lake(he got to pull the ice sled behind the yammy too), we went west of the campground towards VW point. We only had about two hrs so we stopped where there were a bunch of old holes and drilled a few, fished from 3 to 5:00. Nothing on the rods but his brand new tip up caught him a 5lb pike. I dont know who was smiling more. It was quite fun to watch too, you can tell someone the fish is going to pull the line through your hand but until they feel it for the first time they have no idea what to expect. All in all a good day out and about.
