What to use?

A group of us are heading to Northern Sask. to do some ice fishing in the La Ronge area. We are mainly after pike and walleye and want to know what you are using for hooks and bait. Need a good starting point. We have a guide for the first day so I assume he will put us on some fish and what to use as long as we tip well.

The tipping usually comes after the fishing.... unless he has guided you before he should have no idea what you are gonna tip, therefore should be out to impress. Just remember though not all days with a guide are amazing.

I wasn't going to give him the tip until we are back at the cabin. I am not expecting him to work miracles but if he does a good job he will get rewarded.
