Pinehurst is a solid 30 inches plus of ice. The road to the lake is greasy but is good in the early morning. I was there on saturday. Bring your sun tanning lotion. Good Luck :D

Hey Paul, the fishing was sure good there, eh? It was just the catching part that we had a bit of trouble with. There were quite a few people at the entrance to snug cove but it looked like most were just getting smaller pike like us. We left in the afternoon and headed to Elinor to check out the perch. Was anyone else from the board at Pinehurst on Saturday and how did you make out?

Timing is everything on Pinehurst. My brother was there for a couple of days about two weeks ago and got a couple over 20 pounds as well. Pinehurst is a crazy lake, the bite can go from nothing to full on in a matter of hours and then off again for a couple of days.

Elinor was lots of small perch. We were near the mid lake hump. The perch were in 20-25 FOW.

BTW, there are a ton of whitetail deer in that Elinor Lake country. No exaggeration, Paul C and I saw at least 80 deer last Saturday around there.

yeah pinehurst is a finicky lake; i usually don't fish it because a few years back i'd usually get skunked so i just stayed away from there. looks like i'll still be staying away with the new tag system there also. as for elinor; the north end was ok for perch at times.

Here is my brother Duane's 2 big pike from Pinehurst about 3 weeks ago. He figures both were pushing 20 pounds. Both were released.
