am just starting up fly fishing what kind of dry flys work on the bow

Well, apparently NONE I have in my box. At least not this year so far.

I agree with Duck, fish with nymphs or streamers. Only get the dry flies if there is lots of rising trout, or your playing with hoppers in the middle of August.

This time a year, nymphs and streamers will take most the fish.

Depends on what your up to. What water your in. Floating or sinking. There's a million combinations that work. I agree with the other guys. Stimulator works always. I usually have 3-4 different sizes and colors in my pack at any given time. San Juan Worm... same deal. 1.5 and 2 inch lengths. Works well in just about any river or stream.

I was out at Bears Paw Dam yesterday after dinner. 2 hits on the SJ before calling it a night.
